Dear Mercy College Community,

In light of the report of the first confirmed case of coronavirus (COVID-19) in New York State, we want to let you know the College is taking the concerns related to the situation seriously. We are keeping abreast of the information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), U.S. Department of State and local health agencies as it relates to our community, both here and abroad.

The health and safety of our community are our top priorities. We encourage you to be vigilant and to stay informed of the latest developments. The following websites may be resources for you:

  • U.S. Department of State
  • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
  • World Health Organization:

Additionally, we encourage you to visit on the Mercy website for safety recommendations and preventative measures on staying healthy, and Frequently Asked Questions including how Mercy is responding to this situation.

College leaders are working together on a contingency plan to maintain continuity of classes and operations should any disruption occur. At this time, students, faculty and staff are advised to conduct normal college processes and practices.

Thank you for your cooperation and we will provide more information when necessary.

Sincerely,
Kevin Joyce
Vice President of Student Affairs
