Mercy Athletic Director Inducted into ECC Hall of Fame

Neil Judge

Former Mercy College Athletic Director Neil Judge will be inducted into the East Coast Conference Hall of Fame in 2018, the league announced last week.

Mr. Judge, as his student-athletes and colleagues alike referred to him, joined Mercy College as a part-time physical education instructor in 1969, was named Athletic Director in 1971 and served as Athletic Director for 34 years until retiring after the 2005 spring season.

The ECC Hall of Fame recognizes the best student-athletes, administrators and coaches that have belonged to schools in the East Coast Conference.  Mercy’s current Athletic Director Matt Kilcullen said, “This is a very well deserved honor as Neil was the backbone of Mercy Athletics during the course of his career here. We are very happy for him and look forward to celebrating this honor with him in June.”

The ECC annual awards banquet takes place Monday, June 4th at the University of Bridgeport.  Inductees are selected by a 12-person Hall of Fame committee made up of ECC administrators, coaches, sports information directors, faculty athletic representatives and the ECC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee President.

Neil Judge received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the college at its annual Trustees Scholarship Dinner in 2017.
