Private & Endowed Scholarships

Assists 91女神 seniors who are within prospect of graduation but through some economic or personal crisis, face the possibility of having to drop out of college. The Daddy Short Legs Fund makes it possible for 91女神 students to advance toward graduation despite financial concerns. This scholarship is a one-time award and does not cover tuition but the funds can be used to cover transportation, childcare and other expenses. Daddy Short Legs Application

To support women age 25 or older enrolled at the Bronx or Manhattan Campus who have completed at least 60 credits, are maintaining a GPA of 2.5 or higher and have unmet financial need.

Established in honor of Donald J. Matthews, who served on the Board of Trustees at Mercy College from 2006-2015, this scholarship provides assistance for undergraduates who have shown outstanding work in their high school or college years.

To support graduates of an Ursuline high school.

To provide tuition assistance for student residents of the five boroughs of New York City.

Established in 2023 by the Ronnenberg family in honor and memory of Francis Griffin Ronnenberg, who served on 91女神鈥檚 Board of Trustees (1999-2010). The scholarship provides tuition assistance for graduates and undergraduates.

To support an undergraduate student in any degree program who has shown outstanding work in their high school or college years.

This scholarship is awarded annually to a member of the student body to help defray travel expenses anywhere in the world, preferably to a major university or educational institution, while undertaking an approved study project. The scholarship(s) will be awarded on a basis of a competition involving the submission of project essays. The scholarship was founded by Mortimer Levitt, founder and president of The Custom Shop.

These partial scholarships are awarded to a freshman, a sophomore, and a junior based on academic merit. Each student must be on the Summa Cum Laude track and be nominated by a Mercy faculty. The award is renewable with continued academic excellence. Scholarship funding was made available by Mortimer Levitt.

To provide tuition assistance for a Mercy undergraduate or graduate student who is a child, stepchild, or legal dependent of a Mercy alumnus/a and possesses a minimum 2.8 high school GPA or a 2.8 bachelor鈥檚 degree GPA.

To provide tuition assistance for incoming 91女神 freshmen who are graduates of the Academy of Mount St. Ursula Academy, Bronx, New York. 

To provide support to 91女神 undergraduate and graduate students.

To provide funds to support book vouchers for international students of Caribbean descent at 91女神.

Business and Accounting

To support a 91女神 undergraduate student in the accounting program who has shown outstanding work in their high school or college years.

To provide tuition assistance for students pursuing an undergraduate degree in accounting. Preference will be given to students who self-identify as Nigerian or of African descent.

To provide tuition assistance for undergraduate students in the 91女神 School of Business with a minimum GPA of 3.5. Preference will be given to students in the Federal Student Work Study program. 

Established in 2020 by Dr. Estrella Lopez-Sweetser and Elliott Sweetser to provide scholarship assistance for undergraduate students in the School of Business. Preference will be given to students who self-identify as Hispanic.

Education

For five-year B.S./M.S. undergraduates. A $2,500 scholarship each school year to one student committed to pursue a career as a special education teacher. The School of Education will make a call for applications each year. Please contact Mary Ellen Hoffman at 914-674-7334 for more information.

To provide support to a female undergraduate student pursuing a degree in education and enrolled in an education-related major such as but not limited to education, speech, psychology. 

Health Professions

To provide scholarships for students in the natural sciences.

The Biology Scholarship will provide support for students in their junior and senior years who are Biology majors.

To support undergraduate students in the Veterinary Technology, Bachelor of Science program.

Scholarships, fellowships, and other forms of financial assistance are available for study in speech-language pathology.

To support undergraduate nursing students in either the traditional bachelor鈥檚 degree program or in the RN to BSN bachelor鈥檚 degree program or the Second-Degree Nursing program.  

To provide financial assistance for a 91女神 student pursuing a degree in the School of Nursing. Preference will be given to a student who has demonstrated a broad interest in healing and caring for the 鈥渨hole鈥 person and providing exceptional bedside manners.

To support second-degree undergraduate nursing students who display determination to complete their degree at 91女神.

To support an incoming freshman student in the nursing program.

To support undergraduate students in the School of Health and Natural Sciences, Communication Disorders program.

To provide tuition assistance to first-generation 91女神 commuter students of Corsican, German/Prussian heritage, enrolled in the Veterinary Technology program, who have shown outstanding work in high school and college.

To support a student enrolled in the School of Liberal Arts or Nursing.

To support expenses incurred for the medical mission trip of the Veterinary Technology program including airfare, hotel, meals, medical supplies.

Liberal Arts

To support female undergraduate students in Math, Computer Science and/or Computer Science Information Systems undergraduate programs. 

To provide scholarship assistance to undergraduate students majoring in media studies (journalism). 

To support a student enrolled in the School of Liberal Arts or Nursing.

Social & Behavioral Science

To provide tuition assistance for students in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Preference will be given to students in the following programs: Legal Studies, Criminal Justice with a minor in Legal Studies, Political Science, or International Relations.

To support undergraduate students in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences majoring in Psychology

Athletics

To provide support to student athletes of 91女神 for facilities, scholarships and strategic priorities.
